flower contest entries

Sierra at her blog linked me up with this photo contest (click to enter!) hosted by Johanna, featuring a flower theme. Since I've been taking a gazillion flower pictures lately, I decided it would be fun to join. :) I wanted you to see my five entries (no editing allowed!). Which one do you like best?

Droplets on a purple pansy's petals. (Please repeat three times fast.)

Yes--dandelions are still flowers, even though they're usually not where they're supposed to be, right?

  1. Wow, Hallie. It's hard to choose. I think I like the first one with the pink tulip and the last one with the dandelion. But as usual, I like them all =)

  2. I love the dandelion picture. And the first one with the tulip, and the droplets on the pansy. But I think I like the dandelion best. :]

  3. WOW! I absalutly LOVE the first one!!! What a great photo!

  4. Thanks for entering! Wow....

  5. RE Suze & Laurz: Those are my favorites too! :)

RE Johanna: Thank you so much for hosting the contest! So fun!!

  6. The first one is my favorite but they are all beautiful. The dandelion one is very cool but since I'm currently waging war on dandelions in my yard I can't in good conscious vote for a dandelion picture. :)

  7. Hi Hallie,

I stumbled upon your blog through Johanna's photography contest. I absolutely love your photography! Your composition style is very eye-pleasing, and I can tell you understand a lot about how your camera works! :)

Would you mind telling me what camera and lens(es) you use? I've been thinking about investing in a new lens, but I'm having a hard time deciding on which one! Thanks!

(...and I LOVE your hummingbird shots as well! They're so clear!)

    Blessings on your day,
    Lauren :)

  8. Hi Lauren! It's so much fun to hear from you. :) I was just over at your blog and am really enjoying it!

I use a Nikon D40 (which I hear you used to have too!) and I have an 18-55mm lens and a 55-200mm VR lens. I use the 55-200mm lens most often. If I were to get a new lens, I'd probably go for something that works well for macro photography, since I have to use my small digital Canon Powershot whenever I want to do that.

My friend Amanda at uses a Canon Rebel T1i 500D, so if you have any interest in a Canon you might look her up. :) Hope that helps!!!

  9. Hello again, I just stopped by to say a few things! First, thank you for becomming my follower! I now have 105!!!

Also, I just tried putting your button up again, but the HTML must have been falty again, because it did not work. How ever, I just saved the picture to my computer, uploaded it to my sidebar and linked it here, so others can still find your wonderful blog!

Thanks for letting me know it was falty, Untill you told me, I did not even check it out!

    Your Loving Sister in Christ,
