Meet Davy and Erin.

These are two of my favorite people. My roommate and I have spent countless hours at their house, playing with their children (Colton and Trinity) or doing our laundry or baking experimental desserts. They’ve greatly invested in our lives as friends and mentors, and I really enjoyed doing their family photo shoot. :)

It had that late-July feel of a slightly muggy, very warm day with air faintly stirred by a hot, puffy wind. The weather said there was a thirty percent chance of rain, but the sky leaned more toward fifty. We ate, we laughed, we talked, we enjoyed. I took pictures. For a good two or three hours we were undisturbed, until the wind rose and the clouds moved faster and we had to pack our picnic up. It’s a good thing we did, because about 5:00pm the skies opened up, and we had one of those midsummer-like thunderstorms with rain coming down in sheets as only Florida can produce. It was a good day. :)

Two of my little cousins came to visit us while we were at the Lake last week, and between swims, I managed a few quick candid pictures. Olive is five months old, and Carmia is two (I think. But she may have had a birthday since I last asked her how old she was. That’s the only question that she typically answers for me—at least in a language I can understand!).
