(Disclaimer: that song has nothing to do with this post… but I got it stuck in my head when I stepped out into the twenty-two degree sunrise my first morning at home.)
I’m back. Back where water tastes cold and refreshing, where mountains and evergreens tower toward the sky, where seasons change and kitties greet me at the door and horses play in the paddock. The daylight hours are shorter here, but coming from Eastern Standard Time makes the days themselves seem much longer. I’ve been baking Christmas cookies and breathing icy morning air and playing with my sisters—and just relishing the simple fact that I am home.
I love the pinkness of the sunrise…
…and being greeted by two hungry horses…
…and the way everything has a velvet coating of frost.
It’s so good to be back. :)
I'm glad you were able to capture the pink--it was amazing. And then to have snow the rest of the day was a nice contrast.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're home =)
