bokeh
Yum, yum, yum. These blackberry bushes were draped over a sheer rock wall at Fort Columbia. You have no idea how much I wanted to pick every. last. one.
process of elimination
Have you noticed that a lot of photos are made not by what is in them, but by what is left out?
remember
Most people are thinking a lot on 9/11 this weekend. I was only seven years old on that horrible day, but I remember it vividly. A Tuesday morning; I had just gotten up and was going to start doing the day’s school soon. My oldest brother Tim came down the hallway from the TV room. I don’t remember what he said, but I followed him back to the TV to see a video of a plane flying straight into a skyscraper.
I didn’t really grasp the weight of it at the time. At seven years old, New York City might as well have been Pluto. But there was one link of reality: the American flag, which flew over NYC as well as my hometown.
statues
There is an absolute lack of statues in the vicinity of my home, which I never noticed until I tried to find one for this prompt. So I settled for a photo of Flicka, one of our collection of Breyer horses.
flying high
I went for a mood interpretation on this one, rather than taking it literally. And what better mood booster for a chocoholic than chocolate?! I always feel so much better knowing that I have a small supply of chocolate on hand, just in case. :)
I love the blackberries! And Special Dark chocolate :)
