more prettiness

Sorry about the silence on the blog front in the past few weeks. I don’t know how time gets by me so fast—I’ve had pictures piling up on my hard drive all month and am only just now editing and organizing them into various blog posts!

I miss the days of being able to keep on top of my posts… I could even plan on joining various link-ups, like Scripture and a Snapshot or Scavenger Hunt Sunday, on a regular basis. That was so much fun! I’m still holding out hope that this summer, things will slow down… but since I’m moving across the country in the middle of August, I somehow don’t see that happening.

But life isn’t blogging or pictures, even though I think life is better with those things. Life is adventures and excitement, blahness and daily grind, new experiences and same-old routines, all in various doses while pursuing a close relationship with God. My summer will be no exception: madness and mundaneness at the same time, taking me toward my year of Bible school and learning about my Savior in Florida. I’m looking forward to it. :)

prettiness

I love prettiness. Anything pretty excites me… I want to drink up the colors and soak in the light, and taking pictures is how I do it. I sure hope you’re not bored of flowers and bokeh (yes, I'm looking at you, Sam), because I can’t help wanting to share them with you!

girls’ weekend out

My sister Hannah and I joined several friends of ours this past weekend for a bit of a roadtrip. Our primary objective was to throw a surprise birthday party for Julie, who just turned eighteen—and our secondary objective was to have a lot of fun while we were at it. :) I’m happy to report that we succeeded in both!

It just wouldn’t be a girls’ slumber party without plenty of food, silly games, and of course, cosmetics… I did designs on my nails, learned how to make a waterfall braid, and watched Jackie (a cosmetology student) try out possible wedding up-do’s on Jenny, who is getting married in June.

Take note of the RedVines container sneaking into the picture above. It was very important to our survival over the course of the weekend. (And also take note that we didn’t eat the entire thing. Aren’t you proud of us?)

We explored the downtown area, including a candy shop, a pizzeria, and—best of all—the most incredible unlimited-topping frozen yogurt place ever. Ever.

We also explored a beautiful park, complete with ancient trees, dogwood blossoms, squirrels, a gazebo, and a lake… but I’ll show you those later. For now, I’ll just post the portraits the girls graciously allowed me to take of them. :)
