The light was so buttery-golden that I just wanted to slice off a wedge and spread it on my toast. (Yes, I am that weird.) Add to that the semi-annoying fact that my brother is ridiculously photogenic, and you have the makings of one of my very favorite portrait shoots ever!

Two horse-related portrait shoots in a week is almost one too many, but Amy was dying for pictures with my horse, Drem, and even though Drem was a grouch (she hadn’t had her dinner yet) I think they turned out alright. :)

Shooting portraits that involve horses is never easy, but I couldn’t not do some of my sister’s senior portraits with her striking Paint mare, Splash. The wind didn’t want to cooperate, the lighting didn’t want to cooperate, the horse didn’t want to cooperate… but beauty doesn’t always cooperate. It’s my job to capture it anyway. :)
