Oh, the joy of writer’s block.
My English teacher claims that it doesn’t exist. AHEM, yes, it most certainly does! I have experienced it WAY too many times for it not to be real. I have analyzed it, yelled at it, and studied it searching for some cure. It’s seized up my creative genius in argumentative essays, short stories, novels, letters, and now blog posts.
Can you relate?
I think it stems at least partially from being afraid of saying something that isn’t perfect. When I write essays, I’m afraid of not getting a perfect grade. Short stories and novels incite a terrible fear of not being able to tell a good story and fulfill my aspirations of authorship. Letters… well, sometimes talking about my ordinary life to an extended relative who may or may not care seems a little boring. And blog posts? It’s so easy to go off on ridiculous and uninteresting tangents like… this one.
Fortunately for me (and you, I’m sure, since you’re probably yawning by now), some poetic person decided that pictures = 1,000 words. Pictures also don’t get writer’s block, aren’t graded, usually aren’t disappointing anybody’s aspirations, aren’t boring, and don’t go off on tangents.
No wonder I like them so much!
There. No stress. :)
I love the lighting in these photos!
